U N I V E R S E O F Á L I presents 'CHEZ HITCHCOCK', a second annual Halloween Charity Event, was held on October 29th, 2015.  Benefiting Animal Justice, Canada's only animal law advocacy organization that works to pass animal protection legislation, push for the prosecution of animal abusers, and fight for animals in court. This event was a great success!  Armour Heights Officers Mess was transformed into a moody mansion, fit for the honour of the legendary filmmaker, Alfred Hitchcock.  A live band, performers, Labatt's sponsored 'FOR THE BIRDS' raffle with prizes, book reading, fabulous Hitchcock inspired vegan food, a silent auction, gifts bags, and inexpensive drinks made for an evening reminiscent of the mind of Hitchcock.

Feature Guest Speaker, Camille Labchuk, is a Canadian animal rights lawyer and Executive Director of Animal Justice.  As an advocate, Camille’s work includes documenting the commercial seal kill on Canada’s East Coast, exposing cruelty in farming, and campaigns against trophy hunting, circuses, zoos, aquariums, shark finning, puppy mills, and more. Camille is a frequent lecturer on animal law, a regular contributor to publications like the Globe and Mail and Huffington Post, and her work has been featured in countless media stories.

We were honoured to have Camille come to our event, from Ottawa.  Guests learning that Canada has the worst animal laws in the western world and of one case in particular, that went to the Canadian Supreme Court, left people in shock as to what animals face here in Canada.
